So, this large painting 'ANTIBES' begins my new Antibes series. I am the featured artist showing Antibes Paintings at 'TC Salon' ... so, if you are in the Bethlehem area, please stop in. Also, my Antibes paintings will be featured at the Banana Factory in January - both in the main hallway and the VIP Members' Lounge. So .... I look forward to seeing you there !!!

Although I have the occasional commission for the 'sports' painting or 'building' portrait, I find myself longing to paint the images that I recall from the Marché Provençal in Antibes, France. It's a magical place that hussles and bussles with life ... the true gem of the Cote d'Azur. Like so many wonderful finds in Antibes Juan-les-Pins.

Marché Provençal

It's been a bit difficult adjusting to my 'normal' life since my wonderful three months in Antibes, France. There is SO much to do in the French Riviera. One of my favorite pastimes is just walking the cobblestone alleyways. There are quaint shops and window boxes, old shutters and hanging lampposts - an artists' dream for sure.

If you are ever fortunate to visit the Cote d'Azur, you must spend time in beautiful Antibes. I've enjoyed visiting many of the cities in the French Riviera, and I must tell you that Antibes is by far my favorite. Especially when you're living in the outstanding Villa Fontaine.

Now to work on my 'get rich quick' plan ...

And so begins the Antibes series ... again. I love to paint more loose and colourful. Thankfully I receive my share of commissions for tightly rendered paintings - and they help with the bills for sure - but my passion is for paintings that let the viewer work some things out for themselves.

Therefore, without further adieu, here is the first of the new series.

If you happen to be in the Lehigh Valley area in Pennsylvania, I will have a show at Technicolor - or 'TC' beginning this Monday. My Antibes paintings will be there for two months. Beginning in January, I am the 'featured' artist at the Banana Factory - and also the 'vip' artist in the members lounge - and it will be there that I will feature the Antibes paintings AND present a digital slide presentation of my travels in the French Riviera.
